Do Subliminal Messages Work?

The ballyhoo is decades old, yet it remains a fresh topic as each person reads it. Many are confident they need it. Subliminal messaging - does it work? Will it work for me? Are subliminal messages another intrusion into the privacy of the mind? Is subliminal a government conspiracy? Is it an effort by multi-national corporations to control behavior?

For each question regarding subliminal messages, two others follow. They have been debunked by seeming experts in psychology, human behavior and scientific analysis. Yet, for all of the debunking, subliminal messaging has legions of adherents. What is needed is a serious an unbiased examination of the entire subliminal cornucopia. We are a visual, deductive and intelligent species. Common sense indicates we can be influenced by barely visual images and words. Does that influence extend beyond the perceptive range of hearing and eyesight? Millions say yes and millions say no. Without first rate, transparent and unbiased clinical study your belief, pro or con, in the efficacy of subliminal messaging is as good as it will get. However, as most people know, there is more to life than meets the eye.
